6 out of every 10 workers in the world are informally employed (ILO). The nature of informality is not merely a consequence of the labour market but also the socio-political economy in which the worker is based.

ABOUT:

Voices of Informality is an attempt to bring forth the life stories of informal workers especially migrant workers to better understand and amplify the nuances that informality presents in order to effectively address the gaps.

I am Harshita Sinha, a PhD student at the London School of Economics. This page is built with the hope of making both knowledge/perspectives about the lived realities of informal workers and academia accessible to a wider ecosystem to promote collaborative learning and effective practice based action.
